Best Selling Author at SBPL, Possible Thunderstorms Today
Goings on Friday in South Brunswick.

We'll have another gorgeous fall day to welcome in the weekend, but some isolated thunderstorms could sweep through the area.
Elsewhere, tonight will bring John Searles, author of the best-selling novels Boy Still Missing and Strange But True, to this year's Book and Author Gala Dinner at the South Brunswick Public Library. Searles has appeared as a book critic on NBC's The Today Show and CBS's The Early Show, and is also Editor-at-Large of Cosmopolitan.
Here's what else you need to know today.
1. Today's forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 82 degrees. There's a 30 percent chance of rain with a slight chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon. Temperatures will drop to the low 60's overnight.
2. Copies of John Searles' newest novel Help for the Haunted will be given to everyone who attends tonight's festive event at the SBPL. This year, the fundraiser will be held in the Library starting at 6:30 p.m. with Hors d'oeuvres. There will be a buffet dinner served at 7 p.m. and the Author Presentation will start at 8 p.m. Dessert will be served following the presentation, when Mr. Searles will be available for book signing. The cost of the event will be $65 per person.
