Blotter: Resident Charged with Slashing Man Across Forehead with Knife
Three people charged in past week for various offenses in South Brunswick.

A South Brunswick man was charged on Saturday for allegedly using a knife to slice open another man's forehead, requiring stitches to close the wound.
Correy Haskins, 25, was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon after he allegedly used the knife during a physical altercation with another man.
Police were called to a Wildwood Court address at 8:30 p.m. Saturday for a reported assault, when they found a 24-year-old victim who told police he had been in a fight with Haskins. During the altercation, Haskins allegedly pulled out a knife and managed to slash the victim across the forehead, according to police.

The victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, where he received seven stitches to close the wound. Haskins was lodged at the Middlesex County Correction Center in lieu of $10,000 bail.

On Sept. 7, at 1:50 a.m., police charged Tommie DeLoatche Jr., 22, of New Brunswick, for possession of marijuana.
Officer Ricardo Moreira stopped DeLoatche in a 1988 Cadillac on Route 1 near Henderson Road for a motor vehicle violation. Moreira allegedly detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and DeLoatche then turned over the marijuana when questioned, according to police.
DeLoatche was charged with possession under 50 grams and was released on a summons.
On Sept. 5 at 10 p.m., police charged Vanessa Brooks, 25, of Monmouth Junction, with possession of heroin.
Detectives had been conducting an investigation of drug activity on Texas Avenue after receiving complaints from residents. Detectives saw Brooks in the area and stopped her for a prior charge of failure to appear in court.
Police said Brooks had possession of several glassine folds of heroin on her when she was stopped by detectives. Brooks was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and contempt of court.
She was lodged in the Middlesex County Correction Center in lieu of $2,000 bail.
