Dog Loyally Waits At Owner's Side After Rt. 1 Crash

South Brunswick police released this photo of a dog loyally waiting at his owner's side after they got into a car accident Wednesday.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — In need of a little good news lately? South Brunswick police released this photo of a dog loyally waiting at his owner's side after they got into a car accident Wednesday morning on Rt. 1.

The accident occurred at 7 a.m. May 9. The driver, a 65-year-old man from Delaware, works in South Brunswick and he was commuting to work with his dog with him, police said. He was driving north on the Rt. 1 shoulder, as is permitted during rush hour, when another car in the middle lane veered into him, running his car off the road near Ridge Road.

Neither the man nor his dog were injured. But his pup loyally waited by his side while he sat by his car waiting for police. The other driver was issued a summons, and South Brunswick police actually gave the man and his dog a lift to work.
