Driver Charged After Striking Fence, Tree Of South Brunswick Home: PD
The 27-year-old Gillette resident was charged with driving while intoxicated and other offenses, police said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 27-year-old Gillette resident who was driving under the influence was charged after he veered off the road and struck and fence and tree, South Brunswick police said.
On Aug. 25, South Brunswick Police responded to a crash on Ridge Road.
On arrival, officers found a Chevy Malibu into the front yard of a home on the 600 block of Ridge Road.

According to investigation by Officer Kent English, the driver, Andrew Jia of Gillette, failed to negotiate an S curve on Ridge Road, drove straight over a sidewalk, down a driveway, made a left in the homeowner’s front yard then struck a fence and a tree. No injuries were reported.
The officer learned that Jia had been drinking at a friend’s apartment in Plainsboro, police said.

Jia performed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.
He was taken to police headquarters, processed and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and reckless driving.
He was issued several motor vehicle summonses and released to a relative pending his first court appearance.
