Drop Off Unwanted Medications At South Brunswick’s Take Back Day Saturday
Police will be collecting unused, unwanted and expired medication for "Operation Take Back" on Saturday.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick Police will be teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to collect unwanted medication for “Operation Take Back” this spring.
On Saturday, April 26, the department will be collecting unused, unwanted, and expired medicine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Brunswick Police Department, 540 Ridge Road.
The program is anonymous and all efforts will be made to protect the anonymity of those disposing of medications, police said. No questions or requests for identification will be made.

Medications should be taken out of their original containers and placed into paper or plastic bags.
Liquids, such as cough medicines, should be kept in their original containers.
Vape pens with non-removable batteries will not be accepted. They pose a danger to DEA personnel and incinerator staff involved in the destruction phase of the NTBI process because they may explode in the incinerator.

DEA will collect vape pens or other e-cigarette devices from individual consumers only after the batteries are removed from the devices.
At the end of the program, the DEA will assume custody of the drug collection boxes and dispose of the contents in accordance with DEA policy.
