Ford, Johnson Propel Vikings to Blowout Over Piscataway
Vikings win 42-14 over Edison on six combined touchdowns from Dahrae Ford and Amir Johnson.
In the second quarter of Friday's showdown with Piscataway, the South Brunswick High School football team sat with the score tied at 14 apiece.
That would change very quickly and decisively. The Vikings rang off 28 unanswered points to propel SBHS to a 42-14 triumph over the Chiefs.
After losing to Piscataway the first 11 times the teams faced each other, SBHS has now won two out of the last three contests. For this win, the Vikings just drove their Ford to the end zone.
Dahrae Ford, that is.
The senior running back scored four touchdowns in the game, finishing with 154 rushing yards on 24 carries. Ford now has 9 touchdowns on the year.
The rest of the offense was brought by quarterback Amir Johnson, who rushed for 124 yards on 14 carries, with two touchdowns. Johnson also competed 2-of-3
passes for 43 yards.
Both receptions were collected by Dontae Strickland, who also finished with 65 rushing yards on 10 carries.
SBHS improved their to 3-2 on the season with the win, while Piscataway dropped to 2-2.
Next up, the Vikings will hit the road on Friday to face J.P. Stevens High School at 7 p.m.
