Hochman Re-Enters South Brunswick Council Race To Fill Vacancy
Jo Hochman who earlier announced she wasn't seeking reelection, has now filled a ballot vacancy.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick Councilwoman Jo Hochman, who decided to step down from Council, has re-entered the November race.
In June, Noor Jafer was on the primary ballot list. However, the candidate stepped down to pursue a new career opportunity out of town.
She has now been replaced by Hochman, who will fill the ballot vacancy.

Iris Delgado from the Middlesex County Democratic Organization said the South Brunswick Democratic County Committee Members met and selected the incumbent to fill the vacancy.
"Chairman McCabe has spoken with leaders in South Brunswick and the MCDO will be endorsing Councilwoman Hochman’s re-election. Councilwoman Hochman has been a dedicated public servant for her entire career, and a strong advocate for South Brunswick families in her time on the Council," Delgado said.

In a statement to Patch, Hochman said she thought "after 12 years, it was time to let another person run in the primary.”
“When she stepped down it was a sign that perhaps I should throw my hat in the ring. I love my town we have the best residents and so many exciting times,” Hochman said.
Hochman will join incumbent Archana “Ann” Grover and Patricia Germain on the Democratic ticket. Councilman Joe Camarota is not seeking reelection.
"Off the heels of an exciting week in Chicago for the Democratic Party, we are energized and look forward to supporting Councilwoman Archana ‘Ann’ Grover, council candidate Patricia Germain, and Councilwoman Josephine ‘Jo’ Hochman with their election this November so they may continue their service to the families of South Brunswick," Delgado said.
The Republican candidates for Council are Michael J Havardansky, Brian Wojaczyk and Steven R. Simon.
The general election will be held on Nov. 5 this year.
