Marijuana Retail Proposed Near Upcoming North Brunswick Train Station
A hearing has been scheduled by the Planning Board on Dec. 3.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A drive-thru marijuana dispensary has been proposed at the North Brunswick Transit Village.
North Brunswick TOD Associated LLC is seeking an amended preliminary and final major site plan approval, as well as an amended preliminary major subdivision and amended final major subdivision for Phase 1G of the Main Street North Brunswick Transit Village.
According to documents, the developer proposes to build a 3,600 square feet single-story retail space with a drive-thru lane.

“The building is intended to be operated as a fully licensed cannabis retail facility, compliant with all state and local ordinances, requirements, and laws,” the application said.
The site is currently used as a temporary parking lot for NJ Transit bus parking. The site was previously approved for a 1,800-square-foot retail with a drive-thru pad site, according to documents.

The Transit Village is located on Route 1 North and has businesses like Costco, Target, Shake Shack, Courtyard by Marriot, and Green Turtle.
