Massive Fire Rips Through Mattress Warehouse In North Brunswick

The 8-alarm inferno forced the evacuation of nearby homes on Wednesday. There were no deaths or injuries, officials said.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A massive blaze ripped through a mattress warehouse in North Brunswick on Wednesday evening.

The 8-alarm inferno forced evacuation of nearby homes and brought in firefighters from nearby town to assist in getting in the blaze under control.

Flames and thick smokes could be seen coming from the warehouse located on the 600 block of Nassau Street.

There were no deaths and injuries, North Brunswick Mayor Francis “Mac” Womack said.

The Mayor thanked the neighboring fire companies who came to assist North Brunswick and appealed to the residents to financially support the first responders.

“We all owe these dedicated volunteers a greater debt than you can imagine. Their ability to respond to emergencies depends entirely upon community support. Financial contributions and volunteer support is at an all-time low. Please support your brave neighbors who volunteer to keep us all safe,” Womack said. “They have helped us so much already in 2024, now it’s time to help them.”
