New Details Released In Fatal Thanksgiving Eve Crash In South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Authorities have released new details about a fatal multi-vehicle crash that took place on Thanksgiving Eve in South Brunswick.

Nancy Krauss, 61, of Kendall Park, has been identified as the woman who died in the Nov. 26 crash on New Road, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. when three vehicles collided with one another on New Road between Route 522 and Route 1.

A police investigation into the crash revealed that a 2017 Subaru Legacy, driven by a 24-year-old woman from Manalapan, was traveling westbound on New Road when she crossed the double yellow median and struck a 2000 Dodge Caravan, driven by Krauss, Ciccone said.

As a result of the initial collision, authorities said a third vehicle, a 2012 Subaru Outback driven by a 42-year-old woman from Kendall Park, rear-ended the Dodge Caravan.

The driver of the 2017 Subaru Legacy was brought to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with minor injuries, and the driver of the 2012 Subaru Outback sustained no injuries, Ciccone said.

Krauss was brought to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in critical condition and succumbed died later that night.

Investigation into the crash is active and ongoing, Ciccone said.
