Newark Man Charged in Deans Rhode Hall Road Burglary
Alleged burglar caught breaking into vehicles at Spring Irrigation business at the corner of Georges Road and Deans Rhode Hall Road.

A tip from an alert resident helped police catch a alleged burglar early Thursday morning.
At 4:30 a.m., a passing motorist alerted police to a man backing up a pickup truck into the Spring Irrigation business at the corner of Georges Road and Deans Rhode Hall Road. The resident told police he saw the male exit the vehicle before walking around the parked vehicles in the parking lot with a flashlight.
Officer Don Whicker arrived arrived at the scene and soon found the suspect, Louis March, 44, of Newark, hiding behind a tree at the rear of the property, according to police. March told the officer he had stopped at the business to go to the bathroom.
During a subsequent search of the area, the officer found a flashlight and bolt cutters near a commercial vehicle that was broken into, according to police.
March was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, and criminal mischief.
March was lodged at the Middlesex County Correction Center in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The incident marks another attempted burglary this week in the township. On Monday, South Brunswick Police were alerted by a resident of Beekman Manor to a male trying to break into vehicles in the development.
Officers arrived at the scene to find several unlocked parked vehicles that had been ransacked. Police were able to capture one of two suspects believed to have been involved in the burglaries.
