Newcomers Projected To Win South Brunswick BOE Race: Unofficial Result
Laura Hernandez, Alisha Khan and Julie Ferrara held their leads over other candidates, according to unofficial results.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Three newcomers are projected to win seats on the South Brunswick Board of education, according to unofficial vote tally from Middlesex County.
As of Wednesday noon, Laura Hernandez, Alisha Khan and Julie Ferrara held their leads over other candidates. Board President Joyce Mehta and incumbent Ray Keuhner are projected to lose their reelection bids, according to the unofficial vote tally.
With all districts reporting, Hernandez received 5,009 votes, Ferrara got 4,705 and Khan received 4,529 votes.

Mehta trailed Khan by 320 votes, the unofficial tally shows.
The tally is subject to change as the Board of Elections receives and processes all ballots that have been cast in the election, according to the county clerk.

The County Board of Canvassers will certify the official results on or before November 21.

- James Lavan: 3,728
- Julie Ferrara: 4,705
- Joyce Mehta: 4,209
- Laura Hernandez: 5,009
- Ray Keuhner: 3,578
