Public Lands Day in Kingston, Alpaca Farm Open House Highlight South Brunswick Weekend

All About Twitter, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, noon.

Learn the basics of how to use Twitter, the social networking and microblogging platform.  Learn how to set up an account, tweet, retweet, use hashtags, and decipher twitter streams. 

Saturday

National Alpaca Farm Days Open House, Bright Moon Farm, 174 Davidsons Mill Rd., North Brunswick, 11 a.m.

Come out for National Alpaca Farm Days on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet Shadow, Sunny, Charger, Midnight and The General while shopping for raw fleece, accessories and crafts.

National Public Lands Day Work Session, 145 Mapleton Road, Kingston, 2 p.m.

Come out for an afternoon of stewardship in the Mapleton Preserve, former home site of Princeton Nurseries. They will focus on clearing small trees, brush, and vines, mulching trees in the Arboretum, and collecting litter. Participants are invited to bring their favorite tools to the event--loppers, pruning shears, saws, rakes, and brooms.  Please wear sturdy shoes, gloves, and clothing.  Enjoy fresh air, a free workout, and plenty of camaraderie. Defensive Driving ClassSouth Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 10:15 a.m.

The Defensive Driving Institute of New Jersey will be offering an official point and insurance reduction program at the South Brunswick Public Library in Meeting Room A/B.  Pre-registration and advanced payment are required; you must attend the full day session to be eligible for a point reduction and insurance discount.  The program is taught by a retired Police Lieutenant and Police Academy Driving Instructor.  Free pizza lunch will be provided.
