Rainy Start to Weekend, All that Jazz in South Brunswick Friday

It's expected to be a wet start to the weekend ruining temperatures that will creep up to the low 70's today.

Elsewhere in town, Friday will bring the return of the Jazz Cafe series to South Brunswick. Here's what else you need to know today.

1. Today's forecast calls for a.m. wind and rain showers with a high of 71 degrees. Chance of rain is at 90 percent with up to a half inch of rain predicted. Overnight, the temperature will drop to the mid-40's with a 20 percent chance of rain.

2. The South Brunswick Jazz Cafe returns tonight with a performance by Shikantaza, who will present an evening of "hidden gems from the great American Songbook," along with original and esoteric works performed by the jazz trio. The show begins at 8 p.m. in the South Brunswick Senior Center, located at the South Brunswick Municipal Complex at 540 Route 522 in Monmouth Junction.
