South Brunswick To Authorize Sale Of Ridge Road Property
The buyer has agreed to repair and renovate the structure on the property in an historically accurate manner, officials said.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The South Brunswick Town Council plans to authorize the sale of the Ridge Road property during its work session on Wednesday.
The Township had acquired the property at 784 Ridge Road with the intention of renovating and restoring the structure in a historically accurate manner and creating a public space for use by non-profit organizations.
However, “despite diligent inquiry by the Township,” local non-profit organizations were not willing or able to use the Property. As such, it has remained vacant and not utilized.

As a result, the township decided to sell the property and in December of 2024, passed an ordinance for the same.
They set the minimum sale price at $300,000.

In January they received a bid from Michael Sassman of South Brunswick.
"Sassman has agreed to repair/renovate the structure on the property in an historically accurate manner and thereafter impose an Historic Preservation Deed Restriction on the Property, so as ensure that the Property is preserved, renovated and maintained in accordance with the Township’s Historic Preservation Ordinance and to otherwise comply with and abide by the requirements and provisions set forth in the Bid and Resolution authorizing the sale of the property," the resolution said.
The property needs immediate repairs, and officials had said it was in the best interest for the property to be sold at a reduced price so it could be “repaired and restored in order to avoid further neglect and deterioration.”
