South Brunswick Backs Solar Canopy Project To Power 168 Homes Annually

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – South Brunswick is backing WRV Nurseries' proposed solar canopy installation, a renewable energy initiative designed to benefit the local community.
The solar canopy is projected to generate approximately 1,800 megawatt-hours of electricity annually, sufficient to power about 168 homes for a year.
The project aims to produce clean energy without harmful emissions, contributing to improved air quality, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and the township's climate and sustainability objectives.

"This solar canopy is a visible and tangible commitment to a greener future," said Mayor Charlie Carley. "It demonstrates how public and private partners can work together to bring clean, renewable energy to our community while promoting environmental stewardship."
WRV Nurseries had proposed a massive 340,985-square-foot data center on the site, which was the subject of three litigations.
