South Brunswick Declares October Domestic Violence Awareness Month

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Township has officially proclaimed October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, calling on residents to unite in the fight against abuse and support survivors throughout the community.

Mayor Charlie Carley issued the proclamation on October 1, acknowledging that domestic violence affects millions of people across the United States regardless of age, race, gender, or socioeconomic status.

"Every community must actively work to protect its citizens from the pain and suffering caused by this pervasive issue," the proclamation states.

The township emphasized that domestic violence extends beyond physical harm to include emotional, financial, and psychological abuse, all of which deeply impact survivors and their families.
