School District Thanks Local Lawmakers For Help With School Funding
The lawmakers were able to get the school district $485,000.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — During Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, the school district thanked three local lawmakers for helping the district with additional aid after it suffered state aid cuts earlier this year.
The school district thanked Sen. Andrew Zwicker, Assemblyman Roy Freiman and Assemblywoman Mitchelle Drulis for their advocacy in getting crucial bills passed by state lawmakers and helping the district navigate crippling state aid cut.
Superintendent Scott Feder called the lawmakers “champions of the school district.”

The lawmakers were able to get the school district $485,000. A commemorative check was handed over to the Board by Freiman and Drulis.
Frieman praised Feder for his advocacy saying the Superintendent attended many committee meetings and testified before lawmakers to help the district. “We want to thank you for your advocacy because that’s why we are able to do what we are doing here," Freiman said.

Calling the math on the S2 funding formula “flawed,” Freiman said, “Those who actually created the math on the formula were not educated in New Jersey public schools because they don’t know how to calculate.”
At the next Board meeting, Feder will make a presentation on the 2 percent cap and what it means for the district.
