SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Economic Development Committee is hosting a networking event with a life-saving mission, bringing together community members to support local emergency medical services while learning critical safety skills.

The fundraising event, scheduled for Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. at The Grape Escape (12 Stults Road, South Brunswick), aims to raise $20,000 for South Brunswick, Kendall Park, and Monmouth Junction EMS organizations through networking, education, and community support.

Attendees will experience live demonstrations of life-saving techniques and emergency preparedness tips while participating in a silent auction featuring local items. The event combines professional networking with hands-on education, making it both informative and engaging for participants.

  • Ambulance replacement costs $300,000 per vehicle for fleet maintenance
  • Medical stretchers exceed $15,000 each and require regular replacement
  • Defibrillators cost $5,000 per ambulance for cardiac emergency response

Annual Operating Costs:

  • Essential trauma materials, oxygen tanks, and EpiPens total up to $15,000 yearly
  • Disposable medical supplies, required for infection control, can reach $15,000 annually
  • Equipment maintenance for defibrillators and other devices costs up to $10,000

These volunteer organizations rely heavily on community contributions to fund training, equipment purchases, and emergency care capabilities that protect local residents.
