South Brunswick Gets State Funding For New ADA Playground At Reichler Park

The funding was secured through the efforts of lawmakers from NJ-16.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick has received state funding from Legislative District 16 to develop a new ADA-accessible playground at Reichler Park, furthering the community's commitment to inclusive recreation for all residents.

The funding was secured through the efforts of Sen. Andrew Zwicker, Assemblymember Roy Freiman, and Assemblymember Mitchelle Drulis. Freiman and Drulis visited Reichler Park to present the funding check alongside township officials and community members.

Local leaders in attendance included Mayor Charlie Carley, Deputy Mayor Kenneth Bierman, Councilwoman Archana (Ann) Grover, Township Manager Bryan Bidlack, Public Relations Officer Jennifer Poppy, and Administrative Assistant Leah Haas.

“This project reflects South Brunswick’s continued focus on ensuring our public spaces are welcoming and accessible to everyone,” Carley said. “We’re grateful to our state representatives for recognizing the importance of this effort and helping us make it a reality.”

The ceremony also welcomed South Brunswick resident Sharon Ferraro and her daughter Alyssa. Ferraro has advocated for accessibility improvements throughout the township, and the new playground will directly benefit Alyssa and other children with disabilities.

She invited additional local families who will benefit from the upgrades, highlighting broad community support for the initiative.

The new playground will incorporate ADA-compliant design elements that enable children of all abilities to play together.
