South Brunswick Introduces Ordinance To Ban Standing, Stopping On Distribution Way
The ordinance comes after the township received several complaints from residents.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick Township Council has taken the first step toward eliminating parking problems on Distribution Way by introducing an ordinance that would prohibit all vehicles from standing or stopping along the roadway.
The proposed ordinance received its first reading during the June 18 council meeting and addresses ongoing concerns about parking for extended periods along the busy road that connects Route 130 and Georges Road.
Deputy Mayor Kenneth Bierman explained that the township has fielded multiple complaints from residents about trucks using Distribution Way as an unofficial parking area, creating safety and traffic flow concerns on the important connector road.

"It is in the best interest of the Township of South Brunswick to enact this condition on Distribution Way," the ordinance states, emphasizing the need for clear traffic regulations on the roadway.
If the ordinance receives final approval, South Brunswick will install appropriate "No Standing or Stopping" signage on both sides of Distribution Way to clearly communicate the new restrictions to drivers. The signage will serve as both a deterrent and enforcement tool for township officials.
