South Brunswick Police To Host Community Food Drive Sept. 21

All donations will go directly to the South Brunswick Food Pantry.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Police Department will be hosting a food drive during Hunger Action Month.

“Cram the Cruiser" is an effort to help keep the shelves of the South Brunswick Food Pantry fully stocked and assist local families in need.

The food drive will be held on Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Municipal Building.

Residents are invited to help fill a police cruiser with non-perishable food items, which will be donated directly to the South Brunswick Food Pantry.

These food items will ensure that no family in the community goes without essential food items, especially during the upcoming holiday season.

The South Brunswick Food Pantry provides vital assistance to families and individuals facing food insecurity. The pantry has seen a growing demand in recent months.

Here’s a list of requested items:

  • Canned vegetables and fruits
  • Canned Beans
  • Pasta and rice
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned soups and stews
  • Boxed cereals and oatmeal
  • Other non-perishable food items

Community members can drop off their donations directly into the police cruiser parked at the South Brunswick Municipal Building. Officers will be on hand to collect donations and thank participants for their support.

In September, organizations observe Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about hunger in America and inspire action.
