Fourteen officers from the South Brunswick Police Department joined more then 25,000 officers from around the nation at the funeral for NYPD Officer Rafael Ramos on Saturday.

According to the South Brunswick Police Department, the officers stood outside the New York City church and lined the procession route to the cemetery for three and half hours.

Lieutenant Jim Ryan said, “It was a humbling experience that shows the solidarity of our profession. We understand what it means to put on the uniform each day and the dangers that exist. We wanted to let Officer Ramos’ family know we stand united in supporting them and honoring their husband and Dad.”
