South Brunswick Proposes Increase In Recreation Fees
Officials are seeking to revise the rates to "reflect current costs."

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — During their last meeting, Council introduced an ordinance that seeks to increase recreational fee rates for residents and non-residents.
Officials are seeking to revise the rates to “reflect current costs.”
Here’s what’s being proposed:

- Adult sports program per participant: Residents’ rate increase from $30-$100 to $30-200; non-resident rate increase from $40-$200 to $50-$400.
- Protest Fee, softball and basketball: from $100 t0 $200 non-refundable.
- Forfeit fee adult sports: $40
- Coaches clinics: For residents an increase from $0-$50 to $25-$100, and non-resident increase from $25-$50 to $45-$100
- Instructional/drop-in/tournament activity: Adult resident rate increase from $20-$100 to $30-$200; non-resident increase from $40-$200 to $50-$400; senior resident rates increase from $5-$100 to $10-$200 and non-residents from $10-$200 to $20-$300.
- Youth sports per participant: Resident increase from $25-$75 to $25-$150; non-resident increase rate from $50-$150 to $50-$300
- Teen sports per participant: Resident increase from $25-$75 to $25-$150; non-resident rate increase from $50-$150 to $50-$300
- Instructional youth programs: Resident increase from $25-$75 to $25-$300; non-resident rate increase from $50-$150 to $50-$400
- Youth camps (per child): Resident increase from $25-$200 to $25-$350; non-resident rate increase from $50-$400 to $25-$550
- Refreshments/food service: Resident increase from 0.25-$20 to $0.25-$50; non-resident rate increase from $0.25-$20 to $0.25-$50

The second reading of the ordinance will take place during the Dec. 24 meeting. The ordinance shall become effective 20 days after its final passage.
