South Brunswick Takes on Sayreville in State Finals Monday Night

Big game for South Brunswick girls' basketball tonight! They will take on the top-seeded Sayreville Bombers in the state championship.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Big game for South Brunswick girls' basketball tonight!

The South Brunswick Vikings girls' basketball team beat Middletown South in the state championship semifinal game Friday night, 48-45. That win means they advance to the state championship final game Monday night, where they will take on a familiar rival, the top-seeded Sayreville Bombers. The game will be 7 p.m. Monday, March 6 at Sayreville high school.

Alexis Adams, Amber Brown and Onoseta Ufuah were all stand-outs Friday night.

Expect South Brunswick to be seeking revenge tonight; the girls last played Sayreville Feb. 24 in the Greater Middesex Conference finals, where South Brunswick lost 59-52. Should be some intense basketball this evening!

South Brunswick resident (and mom of a basketball player) Azra Baig shared this video of the last few seconds of the game against Middletown Friday night. Despite howls from the audience, the referee ended up putting 0.5 seconds on the clock to run a play; South Brunswick still won.
