South Brunswick's Mohamed Sanu Headed to the Super Bowl
From South Brunswick to the Super Bowl: Mohamed Sanu scored a touchdown early Sunday, helping lead the Falcons to victory.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Congratulations to Mohamed Sanu and the Atlanta Falcons for winning the NFC Championship game Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers! Sanu and the Falcons are now headed to the Super Bowl. Sanu was raised in Dayton and was a star on the South Brunswick high school football team, where he led the Vikings on their first championship run in more than 40 years.
Sanu, a wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, scored a touchdown early in the game Sunday night, helping to lead the Falcons to victory. After South Brunswick, Sanu played for Rutgers University and from there was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals. Last year, Sanu signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract with the Falcons. For the past few summers, Sanu has returned to South Brunswick and run a football camp for kids. His family is originally from Sierra Leone.
“He comes back every summer, works with our kids, and on top of that, the last four years, when he has had his bye week with the (Cincinnati) Bengals, he comes back here,” South Brunswick football coach Joe Goerge told MyCentralJersey of Sanu. “It’s exciting for me, so you know the kids absolutely love it."
