Storm Forces Road Closures

Downed power lines and fallen trees are making travel dangerous, according to police. Report closures and outages to Patch and post your snow photos.

South Brunswick police are urging residents to limit travel due to today's snow storm.

According to a police Nixle alert, more than 3 inches had fallen by 7 p.m. and police had recieved 139 calls for service, with 25 car accidents since 11 a.m. There are scattered power outages throughout the township and several trees down.

  • Kendall Park – Constable Road area
  • Whispering Woods Development
  • Fresh Ponds Road

Police say that PSE&G may have received additional reports of outages.

A tree fell on a power line on New Road between Routes 1 and 522. The line remains intact, but police have closed the road as a precaution.

In addition, police report that Route 1 traffic lights at New Road, Wynwood Drive and Route 522 and the Route 27 light at Gateway Boulevard and the light at Fresh Ponds and Deans Rhode Hall roads are out.
