Suspect In 13-Year-Old South Brunswick Burglary Case Surrenders

Prompted by a Nixle alert featuring his name, Dale Scott of Manville surrendered to local law enforcement.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A Manville resident, who is a suspect in a 13-year-old burglary case, has surrendered to police, authorities said.

Dale Scott, 52, turned himself in after seeing a Nixle alert sent out on Monday, South Brunswick police said.

Scott was charged with a 2012 burglary that took place at a Rocky Hill Road home in February 2012. The resident reported that numerous pieces of jewelry were stolen. At the time of the crime, Sgt. Ken Herman, who was then a detective, responded to the scene and conducted a detailed crime scene search.

Herman recovered numerous pieces of evidence, including boot prints, a burnt cigarette, and several latent fingerprints. The evidence was submitted to the New Jersey State Police for examination.

And in January of 2025, one piece of evidence returned a match for Scott.

Scott was taken to the Middlesex County Correction Center, pending his initial court appearance.
