The Week Ahead in South Brunswick

South Brunswick art teachers highlighted, health and wellness forum in South Brunswick events this week.

Monday

Robotics with LEGO, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 3:30 p.m.

Basics of the WEDO Programming kit will be explained with a step by step easy to understand interactive lesson. Students will learn how sensors can be used along with programs to achieve useful autonomous robots. Space is limited. First come first served.

Tuesday

Tai Chi Class for Beginners, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 7 p.m.

The classes are taught by local Tai Chi instructor Jimmy Lee, who has studied Tai Chi Chuan since 1983 and has been teaching since 2004.  He is a formal disciple of Zhang Yun, who was personally trained by Wang Pei Sheng,  Like our popular Yoga program, payment for these classes will be a fundraiser for the Friends of the Library who sponsor programming for adults, teens and children here at the library.

Thursday

Health and Wellness ForumCharleston Place Community Room, 3424 Rte. 27, Kendall Park, 10:30 a.m.

The South Brunswick Health Department in partnership with South Brunswick Development Corp. is sponsoring a Health Education Program, “Living with Arthritis” on July 11, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Roberta Scharff from The Rehabilitation Center will be discussing adaptive equipment, exercises, and pain management for those living with arthritis.  A free door prize will be given.  For further information call Nancy MacKay at 732-329-4000 ext. 7258 or Anne Marie Nystrom at 732-951-1700.  All are welcome.

Teachers as Artists IV Reception, South Brunswick Municipal Building 540 Route 522, Monmouth Junction, 6:30 p.m.

"Teachers as Artists IV" is art work in a range of media created by teachers from the South Brunswick School District in various disciplines. Come meet the artists at the opening reception on July 12, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. The art work will be displayed from July 9 – October 2.
