Beginner Yoga, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 7 p.m.
A five-class session of Beginner Yoga Class starts on September 16 and continues for four more classes on September 23, 30, October 7 and 21. This class offers an introduction to foundational yoga postures (asana) inspired by sun and moon salutations, safe alignment principles, breathing practice (pranayama), deep relaxation (savasana), and basic yoga philosophy. No experience required and students new to yoga are encouraged to attend. Please dress in comfortable exercise clothers and bring a large towel and a yoga "sticky" mat with you to class. The room is often cool so please bring a sweat shirt.

Rabbi Bryan Kinzbrunner for a presentation on “The Why of Judaism.” Hear answers to questions such as to why do we stand during certain prayers or why is a tallit only worn during certain times of the day and for certain prayers? Understand what the Yiskor prayers mean and much, much more. Bring your own questions and come away with answers. You will receive a free giftand nosh will be served.

Around the World in 80 Treasures, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 12:30 p.m.A ten-part documentary series, Around the World in 80 Treasures: A Quest for Mankind’s Greatest Achievements, written and presented by art and architectural historian Dan Cruickshank for the BBC, will continue on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A/B. In the September segment, Cruickshank travels from India to Sri Lanka, exploring sacred sites of Hinduism and Buddhism and other places of historical significance including the Taj Mahal.
