Today: Vikings Kickoff Season, Thunderstorms on the Way

Thursday evening will bring the return of the defending Group V State Champion South Brunswick High School Vikings.

The Vikes kickoff the season tonight against the East Brunswick Bears at 7 p.m. at SBHS. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, as thunderstorms are predicted to hit the area during the afternoon.

Here's what else is going on in South Brunswick today.

1. Today's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a high of 84 degrees with a few isolated thunderstorms developing during the afternoon. A few storms may be severe. 

2. The Vikings will be in action in front of a packed house in South Brunswick tonight. The school is requesting everyone to bring a food item to donate to the South Brunswick Food Pantry, which is in dire need. Donations can also be dropped off directly at the pantry, located in the Municipal Building at 540 Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction.
