Vikings Look to End Skid at Home
Another tough test for South Brunswick High School as undefeated Edison comes to town.

The road has been unkind to the South Brunswick High School football team.
After two straight losses on the road over the last two weeks the Vikings will return home this week, but the opposition will offer no respite from the meat grinder of the GMC Red Division. The Vikings will host 2-0 Edison Friday evening, as Edison is coming off a big win over state power Sayreville last week by a score of 35-27.
Sayreville's other win this year came in a dominating 34-22 win over a tough Piscataway team.
For SBHS, the defense of their Group 5 state title from last year hasn't gone according to plan. After a blowout win over East Brunswick in the season opener, the Vikings lost 26-18 to a tough Monroe squad, before losing again last week to Old Bridge by a score of 27-8.
Marcus Jackson scored the lone touchdown for the Vikings on an 11-yard pass from Amir Johnson in the first quarter.
Johnson would finish the game 5 of 10 for 38 yards and one touchdown through the air, with 13 carries for 32 yards on the ground. Dahrae Ford carried the ball eight times for 41, while Dontae Strickland carried the ball 13 times for 55 yards.
Strickland had a quiet evening after exploding the previous week against Monroe with touchdown runs of 68 and 80 yards. Strickland finished with 192 rushing yards on just 10 carries, along with the two touchdowns.
The action will kickoff Friday evening at 7 p.m. at South Brunswick High School.
