Molotov Cocktail Thrown At Apartment

Two Molotov cocktails were thrown at an apartment building in Elizabeth on Saturday morning, according to media reports.

The fire broke out around 1 a.m. and authorities found that the fire could have been caused by the Molotov cocktails thrown before the perpetrators fled, reports said.

There were no injuries or extensive damage to the living space, NJ12 reported.

6 People Injured In Multi-vehicle Crash

Six people were injured in a crash that took place Saturday in Rahway, media reports say.

The multi-vehicle crash took place near Capobianco Plaza and Leesville Avenue, by Madden Field.

The driver involved in the crash struck several cars and attempted to flee the scene but was held by several residents until police arrived, Tapinto reported.

Police said the driver is “suspected of DUI” and was taken for medical reevaluation, News12 said.

Sailboat Runs Aground, 2 People Rescued

Two people were rescued after their sailboat ran aground on Jersey Shore over the weekend.

Around 2 p.m. on Saturday, Ocean City firefighters along with Ocean City Police, and Beach Patrol, responded to the area of 22nd Street, and The Beach, for a water rescue of a vessel possibly in distress.

On arrival, firefighters found a sailboat, approximately 40’ in length, disabled and in distress, with two people aboard.

The vessel was rapidly approaching the sandbar, and began getting impacted by surf broadside, authorities said.

Water Rescue-1 was launched and made contact with the people on board. As the vessel grounded, firefighters rescued the two sole occupants.

One of them was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. No further information was made available.

Woman Killed, Driver Hospitalized In Crash

A Wildwood woman was killed and a man was hospitalized after an SUV hit a tree Saturday morning in Vineland, authorities said.

Keila Osoria-Garcia, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was riding in a vehicle driven by Armando Garcia, who was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.

Garcia, 52, of Vineland, is in stable condition.

Police responded to the scene at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday around East Sherman Avenue and Hance Bridge Road. Officers found a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder overturned in the woods.

Garcia was driving eastbound on East Sherman Avenue when he veered into the woods just east of Hance Bridge Road, where he hit a tree, according to the preliminary investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been announced.
