Updated information from the Village of South Orange: The offices of the Baird are closed for emergency boiler and related repairs. It is currently estimated that the building will be closed through the month of February.
The Baird Preschool is temporarily housed at the First & Trinity Presbyterian Church located at 111 Irvington Avenue. With regard to other programs and activities, some have been cancelled while others have been relocated, depending on program needs and space availability. The Baird staff has been contacting participants by telephone and/or email.
Personnel from the Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs have been temporarily relocated to Village Hall, 101 South Orange Avenue. Staff can be reached at (973) 378-7715, ext. 7728 or at recreation@southorange.org. The department will have staff on duty at Village Hall to conduct business as follows:
Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. -9 p.m.
Friday, 9:00 am-4:30 pm
Saturday, 12:00-5:00 pm
Baseball/Softball Registration scheduled for February 5th-6th, 1 p.m.-4 p.m., at the Baird will now be held at Village Hall, same dates and times.
