Bike Theft Thwarted In South Orange: Police

Woman yelled at the would-be thieves and they fled, police said.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The South Orange Police are looking for a pair of juveniles who tried to steal two bikes from a Turrell Avenue home on June 19.

According to authorities, a resident from Turrell Avenue reported she observed two juveniles walk down her driveway and enter her garage where they attempted to take the her bikes. Police said the bike owner yelled out to the would-be thieves and they ran down her driveway and fled east on Turrell Avenue along with several other juveniles on bicycles.

The victim's description of the two juveniles were; both African American males; first subject has a thin build, about 5'11" in height, wearing red shorts and no shirt, police said. The second subject was also thin build, about 5'8", wearing dark blue shorts and no shirt, police said.
