Columbia High Gallery is the Mise en Scene in May

Photos of people and their chosen settings boldly cover the gallery walls

is full of faces and places for the current show, "Mise en Scene." Teacher Jon Fisher crafted the show with works from Photo 2 students.

The term "mise en scene" is associated with cinema. In English, it means "placing on stage." The gallery show represents two assignments, one entitled "Alter Egos" and the other entitled "Social Landscapes."

"South Orange - Maplewood thrives on the arts and the arts are a vital part of the district," says Dr. Brian Osborne, Superintendent of the South Orange-Maplewood Public School. "The Domareki gallery showcases astounding student creativity and sophistication," he notes. "I hope everyone in the community stops by to check it out."

The Gallery is free and open to the public during school hours from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., so come pay a visit and see for yourself the remarkable artistic talent of the students of Columbia High School.
