Columbia High Teams will Relay for Life

CHS students will raise funds for the American Cancer Society

Julia DeFranco and Rachel Drucker are staying out all night. They won't be alone; no, hundreds of other students, including many of their Columbia High School classmates, will stay up and out all night at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The event takes place at West Orange High School from June 15, 2012 at 7 p.m. until 7:00 a.m June 16,2012. (Interested in participating? Click here.)

"Teams of about 10-15 members create t-shirts and clever team names and  hold fundraisers throughout the spring," explains DeFranco. "Last year, our team was named Jersey Cure, a spin-off on the popular reality TV show Jersey Shore."

"In the past, Columbia High School students raised over $60,000 alone," adds DeFranco. "Since 2008, CHS participation and donations for the event have decreased significantly. We created the CHS Relay For Life club to encourage students to participate in the event, form teams, and fundraise. We're looking forward to raising the fundraising bar this year!"
