Man Robbed While Waiting For Bus In South Orange: Police

A car stolen from Jersey City was involved in the robbery, South Orange police said. An arrest has since been made.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — A South Orange resident was robbed while waiting for the jitney bus, authorities recently announced.

According to the South Orange Police Department, the robbery took place on July 1. Here’s what happened, authorities said:

“The SOPD received a call from a resident of Holland Road reporting that he was robbed while waiting for the jitney in the area of South Stanley Road and South Orange Avenue. The actor was a passenger in a gray Kia Sportage, which was later determined to be stolen out of Jersey City. The vehicle then fled into Newark.”

The victim told police that his bag was taken during the incident. It contained his wallet and a laptop, among other items, police said.

New Jersey State Police later arrested a suspect in the case, Khymir S. Jordan of Jersey City, and charged him with robbery, authorities said.
