• Oakland Roots Sports Club Announces USL Veteran Midfielder Tommy McCabe (oursportscentral.com) — A professional soccer midfielder born in South Orange, Tommy McCabe, has signed with the Oakland Roots ahead of the 2026 USL Championship season. Now 27, McCabe’s career has taken him from Notre Dame to multiple USL and MLS clubs, including a title-winning run with Orange County SC, and he’ll reunite with coach Ryan Martin in Oakland.
