One District Retiree Belongs to the $100K Club

More than 1,200 public retirees in the state receive pensions that are more than $100,000; one retired from the South Orange - Maplewood district

Various public retirees in the area are part of the so-called "$100K" club, receiving more than $100,000 in pension from the state of New Jersey. The highest pensions belong to former employees of the state's Board of Education.

In 2011, 1,244 former employees collected more than $100,000 the according to New Jersey Watchdog. This number has increased by 28 percent since 2010, they said.

One member of the group retired from the South Orange - Maplewood Board of Education.

In 2012, Richard Rosenberg, formerly of the SOMSD, received $106,802.
