Police Blotter: Robbery; Arrests

A look at recent police activity

*A South Orange resident and Seton Hall Student reported that he was robbed on April 13 at approximately 8:20 p.m. as he was walking west on South Orange Ave. near SHU. The victim was approached by two black males, approximately 17 - 18 years old,  wearing dark clothing with no facial hair. One was described as wearing a denim jacket. They were walking east on South Orange Ave.

The men asked the victim what was in his pockets then began to struggle with the him, threatening the and threatened the use of a knife in order to remove his property. The victim stated that the perpetrators removed his cell phone and after doing so fled on foot east on South Orange Ave. 

*Shakeem Roberts, 25 , of Newark, was arrested on April 13  at approximately 3:15 p.m. when an officer on foot patrol in the main train station on Sloan St. detected the order of burnt marijuana. During the field interview it was discovered that the subject was in possession of drug paraphernalia.

*Keith McCarthy, 39 , of Hamburg was arrested for drunken driving on April 14  at approximately 2:36 a.m. after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. During the roadside interview it was discovered that McCarthy was under the influence.

A Milligan Pl. resident reported that on April 13 at approximately 2:15 p.m. someone stole his motorcycle from the parking lot of his complex. The victim stated that the unknown actors were seen placing the motorcycle in the back of a red pick up truck and fleeing the scene.

Dillan Rose, 21, of South Orange, William Owen, 20, of South Orange, and Michael Boehner, 19, of  Maplewood, were arrested on April 10 at approximately 7 pm after an officer on routine patrol saw them drinking  alcohol in public. During the field interview Boehner was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and it was also discovered that Rose had an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued out of Maplewood.
