ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Newark resident reported that she was sexually assaulted by a rideshare driver in South Orange last month, authorities say. According to the South Orange Police Department, a woman reported the crime at police headquarters on July 1. The woman said the assault took place around 1 a.m. while the vehicle was parked on Connet Place. A police investigation into the assault continues, authorities said.
