SHU's Adam Satz is Manager of the Year

A $10,000 scholarship in his name will be established

Is he Seton Hall University basketball's biggest fan? Possibly, and it's a good bet that most of the basketball team, staff and much of Seton Hall University is in Adam Satz's corner. After weeks of voting online, team manager and graduating senior Satz was chosen UPS's Master of Logistics, earning 5,600 votes. Seton Hall will receive a $10,000 scholarship in Satz's name to the university’s general scholarship fund.

In annoucing the competition, UPS noted: This year, The UPS Store is honoring the unsung heroes of college basketball in its Masters of Logistics video contest. The videos of five managers representing four universities—Elon, Duke, Rice and Seton Hall—are now posted on The UPS Store Corp Facebook page. These young men and women handle the logistics of making their teams great—all while balancing their responsibilities as full-time students.

Satz, whose video appears here, serves as team manager and maintains a 3.6 GPA. He credits his parents for encouraging him to prove people wrong who thought that having cerebral palsy would make him less able.

Likewise, SHU's Stephen Sauer says, "I think he lives and breathes Seton Hall basketball."

Satz laughs at the end of the video. Just as he has maintained records and stats for his team, he says, "I'll always take care of you, Coach."
