Zen Bakeries Goes on the Road to Green Day

Zen Bakeries brings not just their goods, but their specially-chosen best to Saturday's in Maplewood. Owner Ziad K. Khoury, who established the bakery in 2009, is planning to bring many kid-friendly foods to Green Day, as well a few surprises.

"I'm looking forward to the day," said Khoury. "I'm thinking about what to make and bring."

The seasonal menu has nearly unlimited options. The bakery, located here in Orange, prepares savories and sweets that look to the owner's Lebanese heritage with a modern sensibility. The bakery is committed to sustainability, and to greener living, making Zen and Green Day a match made on earth.

Patch has visited Zen Bakeries several times, most recently this week for spring's seasonal treats. Cauliflower was on the menu, along with zucchini-stuffed triangles and spicy three-cheese white pies.
