Dayton Baseball Blanked in State Semis

Team ran into a hitting machine in Pompton Lakes on Tuesday afternoon.

Dayton’s baseball team should be holding their heads high despite the 10-run rule being put into effect against them on Tuesday. Pompton Lakes scored 14 runs and led 14-0 in the fifth and the game was called.

This was an incredibly uncharacteristic day for Dayton and it came at the wrong time. Their season came to an end on Tuesday but they have nothing to be embarrassed about.

Dayton’s season record was an impressive 20-5 and they had been playing well as of late, outscoring their opponents 30-4 over their last four games leading up to Tuesday.
