Community Invited to Help Work on Trail in Terhune Park

Park cleanup planned June 9.

The following release was submitted by Friends of the Hackensack River Greenway:

As part of its on-going commitment to maintain the Hackensack River Greenway, the Friends of the Greenway is planning a morning of work on the portion of the trail in Terhune Park. The date is Saturday morning, June 9, from 10:00 to noon.

This important work will include debris pick-up, pruning of trees & shrubs, and invasives control.

Members of the community of all ages are encouraged to come out and help.  Everyone is welcome to join in this fun community activity.  Bring gloves, protective clothing, pruners and loppers.  Please call (201) 833-1717 if you have any questions.

Terhune Park was Teaneck’s first section of the Greenway, established almost 15 years ago. The trees and shrubs are well established and need some attention. This section of the Greenway is very popular and Friends of the Greenway want it to be in top shape for the upcoming months.

Meet at the southern entrance to Terhune Park at the foot of Hillcrest Street.

The Friends of the Greenway is a grassroots, volunteer organization dedicated to supporting and encouraging the development, maintenance and full use of the Greenway.
