A section of Degraw Avenue, between Beech and Woodbine Streets, was closed Wednesday night after a live wire sparked in a tree.
Teaneck firefighters were called for a report of smoke in a tree. The roadway was blocked as of 8:45 p.m. while authorities waited for a Public Service Electric and Gas crew to arrive.

The tree, maintained by Bergen County, has several broken branches and a county tree crew was also required.
There were no major traffic delays or power outages reported.
