
Ozone levels are expected to rise today, July 13, to levels dangerous for sensitive groups, the state Department of Environmental Protection has announced.
Sensitive groups include the elderly, the very young and those who suffer from asthma and other respiratory conditions. These groups are advised to avoid strenuous activity during the afternoon and early evening hours. All residents are advised to avoid if possible activities that would add to air pollution today, such as vehicle use, mowing lawns, painting and wood burning.
The Air Quality Index is forecast to be 105 today. The high temperature is expected to be 92 degrees.
