Woman’s Phone Snatched in Nighttime Robbery

Woman suffers cut after grabbing fleeing vehicle, police say.

A 27-year-old woman walking on Kent Avenue was robbed Wednesday night when two men in a sport utility vehicle pulled up and one grabbed her cell phone before taking off, authorities said.

Police were called at 9:14 p.m. and met the woman who told officers the men struck up a conversation with her before the SUV’s passenger snatched a cell phone out of her hand, said Detective Lt. Andrew McGurr. She grabbed the vehicle, but fell and cut her arm.

She was checked by the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps, but did not require further treatment.
