Temps Expected to Rise to 100 Degrees This Weekend
Officials urge residents to stay indoors during hottest hours.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for this weekend as temperatures are expected to climb to triple digits.
In some areas the heat index could rise has high as 105 degres Saturday afternoon, according to the weather service.
Bergen County released an advisory Friday evening advising residents stay indoors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. when the risk of heat stroke or sunburn is at its highest. Residents can seek relief from the heat at the Rutherford Senior Center located at 55 Kip Center which has been designated as a cooler center. It will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 7.

The county also recommends residents seek shelter at other public places such as libraries and shopping centers. Hasbrouck Heights residents should take note that the borough's library has begun it's summer hours and will be closed on Saturday.

- Saturday - Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 101. Heat index values as high as 106. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Saturday Night - Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 7pm and 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. Northwest wind around 7 mph becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
- Sunday - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Sunday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. North wind around 6 mph.
